Well, another month has slipped away. How is that possible? In less than a week it will be MARCH!!! Happy Birthday, Mom! 95 and still doing great.
Around the home front.....Don has been duly elected to the homeowners board. Keeps him really busy. We are trying the get things in order to build a quilting studio in the backyard, but this is not a smooth road. Plans should be in our hands on Friday, but then there is the matter of the "engineer" designing and signing off on the slab......more $$$$.... and we haven't moved a blade of grass yet! I know a perfectly good engineer, but he says he doesn't qualify. Stay tuned to see if this really happens.
Soon we will head north for a short visit to the family up there. Seems lots of those in the north are heading south about the same time.....SMART! However, we did have snow here in Houston yesterday. Crazy! Back to the trip. After visiting in the relies in MN, we will move on to SD to see Don's mom and Leona. Try to warm it up a little for us, OK? Then we will head for Phoenix for Brook and Bobby's wedding (Don's niece). Should be able to warm our bones there. We will take a couple of days and catch up with other friends in the area too. THEN....we will come home and stay put for a while!
I have some serious training to do for the Houston Avon Breast Cancer Walk. I am a little behind and the trip will not help any. Walk is April 10-11 so I'd better hit the pavement. BTW thanks to all who have supported my fundraising -- I'm almost there!
Happy Birthday to all you March people......Mom, Susan, Kasee, Camilla, Chris, Debbie, and I'm sure there are others! We will see some of you soon.

Home Sweet Home
Well, some time has passed since the last post. We finished the job at Katie and Mike's house, kissed the grandchildren goodbye and headed home. The trip was long and boring, but without incident. We arrived in the dark............good thing. Everything really did freeze dead. Looks more like MN without snow in the dead of winter. No green anywhere!! It will be interesting to see if any of the landscape comes back.
So, Don suffers with a cold the last couple of days in CA and on the way home. I am determined not to catch it......wiping down the steering wheel, key, etc with disinfectant wipes before taking my turn driving......didn't work. Got home, got groceries, and spent three days in bed. Today I feel almost human. Really bums me out that I missed PEO and quilting this week. Seems I have so much catching up to do.
I was going to go out and take some pictures of the desolate landscape, but it is raining and cold and I am in no shape to be out there. Maybe next week. I also need to consult with my blog professional to refresh how to change things up here. Can't remember squat! We will try for a nice Valentine theme for next week......do you hear your phone ringing, Krista???
I am thinking of all the people who have birthdays this month. Happy Birthday to Jarvis, Lucy, Lou, ME, Krista, Julie, Leola, Justin, Craig, and I'm sure I missed a few.
OK. That's it for now. I will try to be more creative next time.
